Mountain biking is a challenging sport, in both terms of fitness and technique.

  

Its great being fit but it will get you no where without some basic bike skills.


Here are just a few that are covered in our mountain bike training days.

Mountain bike skills

  • Bike and body weight position
  • Cornering
  • Effective braking
  • Gear selection
  • Front wheel lift
  • Bunny hop
  • Track stand

 

 

Once you've got these skills dialed in you can progress on to the advanced ones! All of these new skills will allow you to ride in comfort and most importantly, you'll have more fun on your bike!
 

Advanced skills are as follows:

  • Cornering at speed
  • Steep descents
  • Drops and jumps
  • Technical climbing
  • Line selection
  • "Pumping"
  • Lateral bunny hops 

All bike skills are taught in a friendly, non competitive manner, so if you want to learn some new skills or just brush up on what you already know, All Mountain Experience can devise a skills session suited to your needs.
